Gas prices going up getting you down?
Over A Barrel
We cannot blame Katrina or any force of nature for the pickle we have found ourselves in. I put the blame squarely where it belongs, on us. Our combined laziness, complacency and shortsightedness has tied our economy and our society to one fuel source. That is just dumb. Having done a ton of research for my new book "What Money Can't Buy" ( coming soon) I have seen a growing concern for the environment and a willingness to embrace alternative fuels, at least the common person is; big oil and others do not. They have invested most or all of their money in oil and do not want anything getting in the way of their profits. The U.S. is fighting a trumpped up war in Iraq just for oil, no other reason. Why do you think the U.N. would not go along with them on this scheme? They could see it was just the U.S. protecting it's own interests.
Many people will be angry at me for saying such things, but I have eyes to look at this from a Canadian perspective. I am as objective about it as a Green Party member can be. Yes, I admit to my bias's; that is the only honest way of letting those who read my articles, blogs and books know where I am coming from. I am also a fan of Michael Moore. I don't believe everything he says and I think about what he puts forth in his documentaries. That puts me in a catagory of someone who agrees with him, thus getting me on many people's shit-list. I don't care! I am a free person and part of that freedom is the ability to think for myself. Anyone who puts me on their shit-list should be prepared for a good debate on many subjects. I Challenge anyone to debate on the topics I have raised.
