Piece of Peace
On the anniversary of the invasion of Iraq our small community held a brisk peace march. Since it was very cold out , It went from city hall to the local library and ended in the room we sometimes use for meetings. It is large enough to seat a bunch of people and give talks from the podium. They also showed a movie I could not stay for. The speaches were heart felt and showed the fire from within. It showed war is a nasty business that some people profit from at the expense of the innocent lives of civilians and the not so innocent lives of soldiers. Both groups are people and we all wish both sets did not need to die. The destruction of property and the chaos in people's live's are even higher prices in a sense, since the pain continues on and breeds hatred. Everyone know Bush is in it for oil. He is spending massive amounts of money and lives for it when , if the same amount of money and manpower went into finding alternative fuels and means to generate electricity, we would not have to worry about oil ever again. We would have that problem licked, and it would be one less thing to go to war over.
I think that is all I can say without going into a major rant and boring everyone reading this.
As John said, give peace a chance.
